New Mazda 5 At Geneva
Mazda have redesigned the Mazda 5 into an even more stunning MAV or Multi Activity Vehicle.
In keeping with the tradition of ‘Nagare Flow’ design, as seen on the current Mazda 3 and 6 models, the new 5 will be completely redesigned from the ground up
The introduction of new engines with lower emissions is key to any vehicles success these days and Mazda haven’t been idle in this department. More notably is the introduction of a new petrol engine based on DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) technology. This new 2.0-litre engine will replace the outgoing 2.0-litre MZR unit increasing power output as well as reducing CO2 emissions by up to 15%. All engines will be mated to 6-speed gearboxes as standard.
The rear sliding doors and famous 7-seats with ‘Karakuri’ flexibility will remain largely the same. Beyond that everything else on this vehicle has been redesigned for European families with active lifestyles in mind.
The all-new Mazda 5 will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on the 2nd of March before finding its way into our showrooms later in 2010.
