If you’d tuned into Sunday nights new series of Top Gear you would have seen the new 2010 Kia Cee’d screeching around the track.

As we already hinted last week, the Top Gear team ditched the old Chevrolet Lacetti in favour of a Kia Ceed. Viewers would have seen the team parking the Lacetti under two giant cooling towers, only for one of them to be detonated, crushing it in the process.

The Ceed used in the series is the new 2010 top of the range 1.6 3 manual producing 124 bhp and 13 lb”ft of torque. This additional power over the Lacetti was noticable in the lap times, given most of them were in the wet.

The car was also put through its paces by the Stig at the programme”s Surrey test track prior to Kia being asked to provide three identical red cars for the latest series of the show.
